Team Lead - Growth

Engineering Gurgaon, India

Description

Studio Graphene is an AI-native digital product studio that designs and builds digital products for ambitious companies around the world. Founded in 2014 and a certified B Corp, we are a team of over 100 designers, engineers, product managers and analysts across our offices in London, Delhi, Lisbon and Geneva.

For this role, Studio Graphene is hiring as the Employer of Record (EOR) for PCI Pal. You will be employed by Studio Graphene in India and work as part of PCI Pal’s team on their products, with your day-to-day role and responsibilities set out below.

PCI Pal is a leading provider of SaaS solutions that empower companies to take payments securely, adhere to strict industry governance, and reduce significant business risks posed by non-compliance and data loss. We are integrated and resold by some of the world’s leading business communications vendors, as well as major payment service providers.

We are currently looking for a Team Lead to join our growth team in India.

Location: 5 days working from Gurgaon Office

Working hours: 11:00 AM-8:00 PM

THE OPPORTUNITY:

PCI Pal is establishing a new India engineering office, built around small, focused teams, each owned end-to-end by a Team Lead. You'll be the direct line manager of the engineers in your team and accountable for their day-to-day technical work and output, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, who oversees several Team Leads and teams across the office.

Growth is split across two teams, each led by its own Team Lead and each owning a defined slice of PCI Pal's partner integrations end-to-end. This role takes on part of that portfolio from the existing onshore team, with full responsibility for the CCaaS and CRM integrations assigned to your team.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Own your team's service(s) end-to-end. Architecture, build, deployment, monitoring and day-to-day operational health, within PCI Pal's established engineering standards.
  • Make technical decisions within your domain, acting as the first line of technical judgement before anything reaches wider architecture review.
  • Keep existing functionality stable while delivering new work in parallel.
  • Make sure your team produces and keeps the evidence needed for PCI DSS and other compliance audits (change records, test evidence, sign-offs) as a standard part of delivery.
  • Stay hands-on, personally contributing to delivery of key initiatives.
  • Ensure that AI is used throughout the development process to enhance productivity without sacrificing quality.
Act as direct line manager to the engineers in your team, including regular 1:1s, performance management, day-to-day coaching and career development.
  • Support your products along with your team, ensuring that there is proper cover out of hours.
  • Work directly with the UK-based Product Manager to turn roadmap and requirements into a workable technical plan, and take charge of estimation and planning activities to build realistic plans.
  • Produce technical designs for your team's work, present them to the Senior Engineering Manager for sign-off, and see them through to delivery as priorities or real-world issues change.
  • Proactively flag technical risks and blockers to the Senior Engineering Manager before they become critical.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Have deep, hands-on experience with CCaaS platforms in production, from an application/API integration perspective.
  • Have led or delivered integrations between a CCaaS/contact-centre platform and external systems.
  • Have experience in directly managing the engineers (1:1s, performance feedback, coaching and career development), or have clear aptitude for it.
  • Have hands-on senior-level engineering background before or alongside this role.
  • Strong C#/.NET experience in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with serverless AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.).
  • Experience owning a service end-to-end in production, not just contributing to one.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, regulated environment (PCI DSS, SOC 2, financial services or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with a track record of working closely with UK/US teams across time zones.
  • Experience producing and presenting technical designs to senior engineering stakeholders.
  • Some prior team lead or mentoring experience, formal or informal.
Experience using AI-assisted workflows to improve engineering quality and productivity, and reduce delivery risk.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in a scale-up or newly-established engineering office.
  • Working knowledge of SIP/VOIP concepts, enough to collaborate with the UK-based SIP experts.
  • Experience with specific CCaaS platforms relevant to PCI Pal's partner base (e.g. Genesys, NICE, Five9, Amazon Connect, Twilio Flex).

IN RETURN WE OFFER:

  • A dedicated day off to mark your work anniversary, in addition to your annual leave.
  • We take care of your health: a dedicated day off for your annual check-up, with the cost reimbursed.
  • Comprehensive medical insurance cover, including personal accident cover.
  • On-site cafe with meals expensed.
  • Sponsored learning and development, with regular knowledge-sharing sessions to keep you growing.
  • A collaborative, energetic workplace with team events, incentives, and competitions throughout the year.
  • Company goodies and merchandise to keep things fun.
